Kogi State Governor Commends Contractors, Unveils Strategic Community Projects, and Reaffirms Commitment to Rural Development
Ankpa, Kogi State – In a major push for infrastructural and rural development, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Saturday inspected ongoing works under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) initiative and commissioned several community-based projects in Ankpa Local Government Area.
Governor Ododo expressed strong satisfaction with the progress of the ACReSAL road construction project, currently at 80% completion. Executed by Mothercat Nigeria Limited, the project is expected to significantly improve access to farmlands, enhance local security, and bolster agricultural productivity. He lauded the contractors for their efficiency and professionalism, emphasizing that such quality delivery aligns with his administration’s development agenda.
During the event, the Governor also commissioned multiple infrastructure, education, and water projects facilitated by Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, Member representing Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal Constituency. These initiatives, Governor Ododo noted, would help ease pressure on the state government by addressing critical community needs, while contributing to overall socioeconomic development.
In his address to the crowd, Governor Ododo extended deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support to Kogi State, especially through strategic interventions like ACReSAL. He pledged to reward the President’s commitment with overwhelming support and success in the 2027 elections.
Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to transparency and impact, Governor Ododo assured stakeholders that all ongoing projects across the state would be closely monitored to ensure quality execution and optimal value for public funds.
Earlier, the Kogi State ACReSAL Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Kato, welcomed the Governor and his entourage, commending his hands-on approach and assuring that the ACReSAL team remains committed to delivering top-tier results.
The inspection and commissioning mark a significant step in Governor Ododo’s vision to transform rural Kogi through strategic partnerships, environmental sustainability, and improved infrastructure, a clear indication of progress and prosperity for all citizens of the state.
