‎RABAT, MOROCCO – Nigeria’s Super Falcons are on the cusp of greatness as they prepare to face host nation Morocco in the final of the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium this Saturday, July 26.

‎Aiming for an unprecedented 10th continental title, the Falcons are entering the final with fierce determination and a deep sense of mission—Mission X—a quest to reassert their dominance in African women’s football and reclaim the crown they narrowly lost in 2022.

‎Saturday’s showdown is being billed as the marquee finale of the tournament and echoes another major final involving Nigeria against a host nation, just 17 months after the Super Eagles fell to Côte d’Ivoire in the 2024 AFCON final. This time, Nigeria’s women are looking to flip the script.

‎Head coach Justine Madugu, whose appointment initially drew skepticism, has now silenced critics with a pragmatic, opponent-focused approach that has propelled the Super Falcons through a near-flawless campaign.
