Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu's Giant Strides in Humanitarian Services To The People of Kogi State
In a commendable display of commitment to humanitarian service and societal development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, the Honourable Minister for Steel Development in Nigeria, and the founder, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu foundation, has continued to uplift the lives of the less privileged in Kogi State, Under his foundation Chairmanship of Prince Idoko Daniel Ogacheko. The foundation has significantly impacted various communities in the state by providing essential amenities and support to underserved populations.
Established to perpetuate the legacy of his late father, Prince Abubakar Audu, the foundation was conceived as a beacon of hope for the less privileged, transcending political motivations. Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, a former Executive Director of Stanbic IBTC Bank in Lagos, embarked on this philanthropic journey to bridge gaps in education, water supply, and general welfare, emphasizing his resolve to give back to society and uphold the family name as architects of modern development in Kogi State.
One of the core achievements of the foundation is the provision of clean, portable water to communities that have historically faced severe water scarcity. With motorized boreholes drilled in strategic locations across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State, the foundation has delivered life-saving water solutions to communities such as Nagazi Vete in Adavi LGA, Ogbonicha in Ofu LGA, Emewe Ogane in Dekina LGA, and Odolu in Kabba Bunu LGA. This initiative has not only improved access to potable water but has also reduced the long treks undertaken by residents, particularly women and children, in search of safe drinking water.
Education, another critical focus of the foundation, has seen marked improvement due to the renovation and furnishing of schools. The foundation has provided desks and renovated classrooms in several schools, including the LGEA Primary School in Emodu Ogugu, Olamaboro LGA, and LGEA Primary School in Ogodo, Ankpa LGA, UBE Secondary school Ilai Mopa LGA and Community secondary school Emiworo in Ajaokuta LGA. Additionally, Prince Shuaibu has personally overseen the fencing and renovation of Meshaidi Primary School in Idah, ensuring a secure learning environment for the students. These projects aim to foster a conducive atmosphere for education, enabling future generations to thrive academically and socially.
Furthermore, the foundation has extended its benevolent reach to flood victims in various communities, including Adankolo in Kogi West, Gadumo and Ganaja, Ajaokuta LGA in Kogi Central and Ejule Ojebe in Ibaji LGA in Kogi East, By providing essential relief materials, the foundation has brought much needed support to families displaced and adversely affected by flooding, demonstrating a proactive and compassionate approach to disaster response.
His commitment to societal development has remained steadfast even after his appointment as Minister for Steel Development. Despite the demanding nature of his ministerial duties, he continues to devote time and resources to expanding the foundation’s outreach as he has appointed the Special Envoy of the United Nation Sir Edward Philip Leo Africa Bonn as an Emeritus Chairman of the foundation to further emphasizing his dedication to humanitarian causes. His tenure as a minister is widely seen as a continuation of his philanthropic legacy, with plans to extend the foundation’s operations beyond Kogi State to all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
As a youthful and dynamic minister, Prince Shuaibu represents the aspirations of the younger generation, carrying the torch of progressive leadership. His ascension to the federal executive council is a testament to his competence, character, and unwavering resolve to serve the people, particularly the underprivileged.
