Governor says “Even the blind can see our work” as NANS, NAOSS declare him best in less than three years
Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second-term bid gained momentum on Saturday as student leaders across Osun State overwhelmingly endorsed his administration, saying he has outperformed the opposition APC’s 12-year record in less than three years.
At a fully packed Government House Banquet Hall, leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), and the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) praised Adeleke’s people-focused leadership.
Comrade Ayobami Solomon Abel, Chairman of NANS JCC, Osun Axis, said:
“Even the blind can see the good work of the Adeleke administration across Osun State. We are not here to praise-sing but to acknowledge what is self-evident, your government has performed better than the previous APC government.”
NAOSS President, Comrade Adedibu Mustafa Akinsumbo, highlighted achievements in education, agriculture, health, infrastructure, sports, and workers’ welfare.
“Farmers, workers, artisans, market leaders, all have endorsed you because of your exceptional performance despite intimidation. You have set a high standard of governance and deserve continuity,” he said.
The student leaders chorused aluta songs in Yoruba, “Adeleke, continue your good work; we are satisfied with your governance".
Responding, Governor Adeleke said the wave of endorsements across Osun has further strengthened his resolve to deliver more.
“We hope some failed opposition aspirants can see what the Osun people are seeing and accept their past failures. People and God are my support base. On behalf of my government, I thank workers, farmers, artisans, students, and youths for appreciating our efforts,” he said.
He announced the approval of two coastal buses for NANS and NAOSS, a technical review of internal campus roads, and urgent attention to bursary payments.
“We will not take your support for granted. By God’s grace, I intend to move from the ‘A’ grade you’ve given me to an ‘A-plus’ in the near future,” Adeleke added to loud chants from the students.
