‎President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel) and Senior Pastor of Faith Tabernacle, on the occasion of his 71st birthday.

‎In a goodwill message issued on Friday through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Bishop Oyedepo as “a towering figure of influence and impact in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond,” while celebrating his immense contributions to both spiritual and national development.

‎Tinubu highlighted the cleric’s steadfastness and discipline over the decades, acknowledging that since the establishment of Living Faith Church in 1982, Bishop Oyedepo has transformed countless lives, not only through the gospel but also by investing in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

‎ “You have built one of Africa’s most impactful Christian ministries from humble beginnings. Your steadfastness in the Word of Faith ministry is exemplary, birthing many ministries with resonating impact on key sectors of the economy,” the President said.

‎The President particularly lauded Bishop Oyedepo’s unparalleled contribution to education, pointing to the network of institutions established under his leadership. From Kingdom Heritage Schools and Faith Academy to the internationally acclaimed Covenant University and Landmark University, Tinubu noted that these institutions have not only raised academic standards but also placed emphasis on skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

‎He observed that Covenant and Landmark Universities continue to compete favorably with renowned global institutions, producing graduates who are shaping industries, strengthening economies, and redefining excellence in leadership and innovation.

‎Beyond the pulpit and the classroom, President Tinubu commended Bishop Oyedepo’s role in nation-building, citing his consistent preaching, teaching of faith, emphasis on discipline, and dedication to service as virtues that serve as moral compasses for Nigeria. According to the President, Oyedepo remains a source of spiritual strength and inspiration to individuals, families, and the wider society.

‎As Bishop Oyedepo marked his 71st birthday, Tinubu joined his family, congregants, staff of David Oyedepo Ministries International, and the Body of Christ in celebrating a life dedicated to uplifting humanity. He prayed for the cleric’s continued good health, longer life, and greater wisdom to keep inspiring generations across nations.

‎Bishop Oyedepo, widely regarded as one of Africa’s most influential Christian leaders, has not only grown a global ministry from Nigeria but has also built a legacy that intertwines faith with tangible social transformation. From pioneering mega-church infrastructure to advancing education through world-class universities, his influence stretches far beyond the church into the very fabric of society.
