APC stalwart congratulates president, applauds key reforms driving national progress
Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended President Bola Tinubu for his reform-driven leadership as Nigeria celebrates its 65th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message personally signed and made available to journalists, Araraume extended heartfelt congratulations to President Tinubu and Nigerians across the country, describing the anniversary as a defining moment in the nation’s history. According to him, it represents both a celebration of resilience and a call for deeper commitment to building a more prosperous and united society.
He praised President Tinubu’s administration for initiating what he described as transformative reforms aimed at reshaping the country’s economic and social landscape. Highlighting the Renewed Hope Agenda, fiscal adjustments, youth-focused initiatives, and major infrastructure projects, the APC stalwart said the president’s policies have begun to chart a new direction for Nigeria’s development.
Araraume noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda remains central to the administration’s push for economic diversification, job creation, and poverty reduction. He pointed to initiatives such as the Consumer Credit Corporation and the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund, which are designed to empower individuals and small businesses, ultimately strengthening the economy from the grassroots.
He also lauded the Solarisation Project, which aims to provide electricity to over 25 million Nigerians in rural communities through solar mini-grids and home systems. According to him, this not only expands access to affordable power but also reduces the country’s reliance on fossil fuels, aligning with global clean energy goals.
Speaking on fiscal reforms, Araraume explained that the government had succeeded in cutting Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio from a staggering 97 percent to below 50 percent. He argued that bold steps such as the removal of fuel subsidies and exchange rate unification have freed up resources for development while contributing to greater economic stability.
On education and youth empowerment, the APC leader applauded the establishment of the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which has already disbursed more than ₦10 billion in interest-free loans to indigent students. He also highlighted the Digital and Creative Enterprises (DICE) scheme, which he said is equipping young Nigerians with innovative skills needed to thrive in technology and creative industries.
In terms of infrastructure, Araraume pointed to the rehabilitation of over 3,000 kilometres of roads, the completion of the Lagos-Ibadan railway line, and the upgrades of major airports and seaports as significant strides in improving trade, mobility, and national connectivity. He also cited reforms within the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), noting that ongoing projects in Abuja are accelerating urban renewal while creating professional growth opportunities for civil servants.
“These reforms serve as clear demonstrations of the administration’s commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and a brighter future for all Nigerians,” he stated.
Araraume further urged citizens to embrace the spirit of unity and collective effort as the nation marks 65 years of independence. He maintained that Nigeria has overcome numerous challenges in its history and has the potential to achieve even greater progress if citizens remain steadfast in the pursuit of nation-building.
“As Nigeria marks 65 years of independence, all citizens are encouraged to unite in the collective pursuit of nation-building. Together, it is possible to overcome every challenge and unlock the limitless potential within this great country,” he declared.
