Tinnbu's Aide Dismisses Claims of Political Bribery as Baseless, Challenges Nwosu to Name Alleged Officials
The Presidency has strongly refuted claims by Ralph Nwosu, former National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), that he was offered three ministerial appointments to pull out of aligning his party with an opposition coalition.
In a swift response on Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, described Nwosu’s allegations as "false, implausible, and lacking credibility."
Taking to his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, Bwala dismantled the claim, stating that only President Tinubu has the constitutional authority to offer ministerial appointments — not intermediaries or unnamed government officials. He insisted that any such alleged proposition would have had to come directly from the president himself.
Bwala further criticized Nwosu’s failure to name those involved in the purported offer, challenging him to disclose the identities and positions of the alleged officials if his claim holds any truth.
“The same courage he mustered, saying he was promised slots by the officials, could have been used in mentioning their names and positions in this government,” Bwala stated.
In a final swipe at the opposition’s unity efforts, Bwala mocked what he called their disorganized approach, saying,
“They are painfully graduating to the association of jesters or the Association of Disorganised Characters.”
Nwosu’s claims had alleged that top government figures had tried to bribe him with multiple ministerial positions in exchange for abandoning efforts to align the ADC with a broader opposition movement, a claim now dismissed by the Presidency as a desperate and unsubstantiated fabrication.
