‎The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across the country, starting with the online pre-registration phase today, Monday, August 18, 2025.

‎The electoral body announced that eligible Nigerians can log on to www.cvr.inecnigeria.org to begin their registration ahead of the physical exercise, which is scheduled to start on August 25, 2025.

‎INEC explained that the in-person registration will be conducted at all its 37 state offices and 774 local government area offices nationwide to guarantee easy access for prospective voters.

‎The exercise is open to new voters aged 18 and above, Nigerians seeking to transfer or collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and those who need replacements for lost or damaged cards.

‎The commission warned against multiple registrations, stressing that violators would face penalties. It also urged citizens to seize the opportunity, noting that voter registration is crucial for inclusive participation in the democratic process.

‎For enquiries, the public is advised to contact INEC through its call centre on 0700-CALL-INEC (0700-2255-4632) or via its short code 4632.

‎INEC reaffirmed its commitment to deepening democracy, assuring that every eligible voter will have the chance to register ahead of upcoming elections.
